lent: 40 days of personal development

it has honestly been the longest time since i last wrote a big block of words, nevermind a blog post. but hopefully one year older one year wiser is a thing and i can write better blog posts, one year on (i know it's more a year and a half, i don't suck at both maths and english that bad, but allow me).

so why am i restarting, for the second time?
you see, if you know me, you'll know that i'm a rather open person and just chat a lot (after the initial awkwardness that is lol) and i've been in the habit of writing a diary everyday for the past 3 years or so now but i figured, that isn't real journalling and i'm barely reflecting on and appreciating my days - it's more like 'oh im gonna have fomo so let me write everything down' type thinking.

what do i want to get out of this blog?
i would love for this to be a place where i can share certain experiences and joys and just make this my online happy place - whether that be something good that's happened or something bad that i've then managed to get over. my initial passion for blogging was from talking about the silly things in life that would otherwise go unnoticed or forgotten.

we speak around 16k words a day [1], we make around 35k decisions a day [2], we have around 70k thoughts a day [3].

and i want to use these statistics to base my blog on. there are so many little things worth talking about and exploring and there shouldn't really be a reason for us to feel bored. carpe diem, seize the day, and all that.

what now, why now?
this lent, i'm taking part in the 40 acts initiative for the 3rd time. it's basically a challenge to actively choose to live out generosity and put generosity into action. my idea is that i'll document and share some of my random acts of kindness and some of my personal experiences and struggles just to spread a lil bit of love and maybe inspire you kind souls out there too. so hey ho, let's go!

all the love,
hayz xo
